STEP 14 - HAIR CHANGES

broken image

As women go through menopause, many report some changes in their HAIR: lacking luster, or being dry or damaged, thinning, or loss of hair.

It is thought that changing hormone levels is the cause: androgens, such as testosterone, can change the type of hair present or the number of hair follicles and the sebaceous glands that support them.

Other factors that can affect the hair include thyroid problems, nutrient deficiencies, stress, genetic influences, medications, and poor dietary intake of proteins. Protein is crucial for the growth, development and strength of our hair, skin, and nails. If not enough protein is consumed on a daily basis, this may contribute to hair loss.

When there is a vitamin or mineral deficiency—a deficiency of Zinc, for example—this can often first be noticed in the hair, so a well-balanced diet, high in nutrients, is important.

Some people experience a noticeable difference in hair health and regrowth simply by using our Vitality Program. Additionally, some Essential Oils may support even faster hair growth, including:

• Rosemary

• Clary Sage

• Thyme

• Arborvitae

• Cedarwood

• Sandalwood

• Cypress

• Lavender

• Cellular Complex Blend

Along with its culinary applications, ROSEMARY has many benefits, including the support of healthy digestion* and internal organ function. More to our point, ROSEMARY also supports healthy hair growth.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

To use ROSEMARY or any of these oils, simply add three drops of each into one tbsp. of Fractionated Coconut Oil and massage into the scalp. Apply twice a day to promote stronger and healthier hair regrowth.

TIP: As hair begins to grow, a spray top can be used for easy and even distribution of oils onto the scalp. These can be found from local Essential Oil suppliers, and they are the right size to screw onto a 15ml glass Essential Oil bottle. So save your empty glass bottles!

WEEKLY HAIR CONDITIONING TREATMENT

• 3 tbsp. coconut oil

• 1 tbsp. olive oil

• 8 drops Essential Oils (use one or all six of the following: Lavender, Sandalwood, Geranium, Rosemary, Peppermint, Clary Sage)

Put coconut oil, olive oil, and Essential Oils in mixing bowl. Mix on medium/high speed for five minutes or until ingredients are whipped to a thick and creamy consistency. Once whipped, apply to clean, dry hair. Comb through with wide tooth comb to evenly distribute. Let sit 15–20 minutes. Rinse, shampoo and style as desired. Repeat once a week or as often as desired.
